Thank you for your interest in having the remainder of your prenatal care and delivery in the United States of America. In the U.S.A, physicians and private individuals do not usually own and operate hospitals. There is also no National Health Insurance scheme for citizens as it is in some European countries like the United Kingdom and Canada. Most citizens and residents are expected to obtain Health insurance through private arrangements and their respective employer provided insurance.
Visitors and non residents who need healthcare services are expected to pay out of pocket and this can be quite expensive and a huge burden on the taxpayers if healthcare bills are not paid.
Understanding the healthcare system, requires a little bit of research. The easiest way is to note that physician specialties assess and bill patients separately. There is no global billing system. Emergency services, Laboratories, imaging, radiological and nursing care by hospital are all billed separately. If you receive any service from any physician, Nurse, Labs, Ultrasound, X-ray, ambulance or emergency transport by air or ground expect a bill.

I am an Ob/Gyn practitioner in the Richmond, Houston and Sugar Land areas in Texas. I have been in practice in the United States since 2003, I am board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our practice offers antenatal care/Gynecological services for indigent women and international patients from all over the world.
I will be in charge of your prenatal care, delivery and postpartum care when you are registered with our practice. We may also use the services of our Nurse Practitioners occasionally as an adjunct office provider. Outside of the OB care, there will be separate entities that will provide services depending on your OB needs. This includes but is not limited to Labs, Ultrasounds, Circumcision, Epidural, and Surgical Assistants if surgical delivery is required.
We shall assist you through the process of acquiring excellent care in the United States and make the transition from your home country through the complex, yet ever so interesting and excellent health care system delivered in the United States of America.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you and providing you with Compassionate Care!
